1. Who we are and how to reach us
Loose Ends (“we”, “us”) runs at leremembers.com. Questions, requests to see or delete your data, or complaints about how we handle it: support@leremembers.com. We answer privacy requests from real people within 30 days.
2. What we collect
Only what a working memory needs. Four kinds:
- What you tell us. Your name (only what you type yourself), email address, and the loose ends, dates, tasks, trips, purchases, work records and messages you save.
- What you connect. Mailboxes, calendars, and any account you authorize, with the records needed to keep that connection working.
- What your device sends. A push-notification token if you turn on reminders, plus content-free counts of which screens and features you used, so we know what to fix. We do not record the text of what you enter for these counts.
- What you choose to attach. Screenshots you send with feedback, and profile images you upload. Both are stored in private storage that is not world-readable.
Payment card details are handled by Stripe. We keep your subscription status and billing records; we do not see or store your card number.
3. How Loose Ends reads your email
This is the part that matters most, so it is written out in full. Nothing here happens until you connect a mailbox yourself.
- Only with your permission. Connecting Gmail takes you to Google's own sign-in screen, where you grant Loose Ends read-only access to your mail (the gmail.readonly permission). We ask for nothing else from Google, and we can never send mail, delete mail, or change settings through this connection.
- What is read. Message headers and the message text, so a bill can be told apart from a newsletter. By default we read your Inbox. Sent and Deleted mail are read only if you turn those folders on. Spam is never read. Attachments are never opened or downloaded.
- How much. A routine check covers the last seven days and at most 50 messages, and only the first part of each message body (about 16 KB). A deeper “older mail” scan covers a longer window you choose, in small batches, for the same reasons.
- Why it is read. To find things you appear to be forgetting: money owed or owed to you, deadlines, return and warranty windows, appointments, renewals, credits about to expire.
- What we keep afterwards. Only the finding — a short title, a short summary, an amount and currency if one was present, a date if one was present, and how confident we are. We also keep a scrambled code identifying which messages we already looked at, so the same message is not shown to you twice.
- What we never keep. The full text of your messages is not stored in our database, is not written to a file, and is not sent to an AI service. Nothing from your mailbox becomes a Loose End until you approve it.
4. Limited Use of Google data
Google API Services: Limited Use. Loose Ends’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services Terms of Service, under the Limited Use requirements.
In plain terms, we will never:
- use your Gmail data for advertising, or show it to advertisers;
- sell or share it with anyone except as described in this policy;
- use it to train AI models;
- combine it with data from other apps or services;
- keep it longer than needed to give you the result you asked for.
5. How long we keep things
- Scrambled codes for messages already checked: up to 30 days, then they are removed. This exists only so we do not re-read the same mail.
- Findings you have not yet approved or dismissed: up to 60 days, or 14 days after the date they concern, whichever comes first. If you never look at them, they disappear.
- Your email connection and its records: until you disconnect it, or delete your account.
- Loose Ends you approved, and everything else you saved: until you delete them, or delete your account.
- Technical diagnostic records that help us trace a failure: up to 7 days.
6. Who we share with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We share only with the small number of services the app physically depends on:
- Lovable, which hosts this app and its database and runs the connection service that holds your email authorization on your behalf.
- Your email provider (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo or Comcast), so we can read the messages you authorized.
- Stripe, for payments and subscription records.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect someone's safety or our rights, and we will tell you where we are allowed to.
7. Your controls
- Disconnect a mailbox in Settings. That stops all future reading, releases the authorization at the provider, and deletes everything derived from that mailbox — cached findings, checked-message codes and scan progress. Loose Ends you already approved stay, because you chose to save them.
- Automatic checking is off by default. A mailbox is only ever checked when you ask, unless you separately switch on automatic watching for that mailbox. Turning it on for one mailbox does not enable it for another.
- Delete any single item you saved, at any time.
- Delete your account in Settings. That cancels billing, revokes every connection, removes your files and deletes your records.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The database encrypts what it stores, and uploaded files sit in private storage rather than public links. Email authorizations are stored encrypted and are never shown in the app. Access to your mailbox is limited to the read-only permission you granted — we never ask for your email password, and for password-based mailboxes the credential is encrypted on our server and never leaves it.
9. Children
Loose Ends is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top. The current version is always the one at leremembers.com/privacy.
